We celebrate Epiphany with the traditional ride of the Three Kings through the town of Grassina to the Church of St. Michael.
The living nativity scene
A historical procession formed by the Three Kings and the Shepherds bringing gifts to the cave of the baby Jesus.
Empty Cellars
Among the many activities CAT has been involved in, since 2016 there is also the organization of the Empty Cellars, a popular market aimed at putting clothes, materials, games, furniture and furnishings back into circulation giving them new life and usefulness. The event takes place at the area adjacent to the Grassina People’s House parking lot on Via Abebe Bikila.
Cavalcade of the Three Kings
It has been several years now that on the day of Epiphany, CAT onlus organizes the Parade of the Three Kings, the final event of the events that are usually organized in the country during the Christmas holidays.
On the morning of Jan. 6, a historical procession, consisting of the Three Kings on horseback and the Paggetti rides through the village and later arrives at the church of San Michele in Tegolaia where the Magi, in front of the nativity scene built in the churchyard, give the Baby Jesus their tributes.
The Living Nativity
It has been a long-standing tradition for years that during the Christmas season, the living Nativity scene organized by CAT is included in the events that are normally held in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
A historical procession formed by the Magi and Shepherds leaves from the association’s main office and makes its way through the village to the central square where the Magi bring their gifts to the grotto of the baby Jesus.
